Why is photo identification required?

The ID card contains a photograph and electronic identification, authentication and access credentials intended to provide the university with a mechanism for identity verification, electronic validation, authentication and verification of authorized access to services. In the interest of public safety and security, no person will be issued an ID card without first being verified.

*Please note, if you are an international student you must present your I-20 or DS-2019 along with your foreign-issued passport.

Do I need to notify the Aggie Card Office once I upload my photo?

The application will automatically notify the Aggie Card Office that a photo has been received so you do not need to take any additional action to notify us. All communications regarding the status of your Aggie Card will be sent to you via email.

How can I check the status of my Aggie Card?

Go to myaggiecard.tamu.edu and log into the application. Click the My Aggie Card Status option under the My Aggie Card drop down menu at the top of your screen. Here you will see your status (approved, denied or pending), the date you submitted your photo, and the date it was reviewed by Aggie Card Office staff for approval.

When will my Aggie Card be ready for pickup?

Once you have uploaded your photo, you will need to continue to check your email. An email will be sent to tell you whether or not your photo was accepted or rejected. If the photo was rejected, you will need to submit a new photo. If your photo has been accepted, the email will have instructions to set up an appointment to pick up your Aggie Card. The Aggie Card will be available for pick at your scheduled appointment time. You will come to our office, located in the General Services Complex (GSC), Suite 2801. Bus route 6 will bring you to our building or we do have 30 minute parking in the front and back of the building. Please make sure that you bring a photo ID with you to pick up your new Aggie Card. We will not release the card without the required identification.

Can anyone else pick up my Aggie Card?

Only the cardholder can pick up their Aggie Card. You will be required to show a photo ID when you pick up your Aggie Card. Acceptable forms of ID are listed above.

Can I have my Aggie Card mailed to me?

No Aggie Cards can be mailed. You are required to show an official government-issued photo ID when you pick-up your card. The ID card contains a photograph and electronic identification, authentication and access credentials intended to provide the university with a mechanism for identity verification, electronic validation, authentication and verification of authorized access to services. In the interest of public safety and security, no person will be issued an ID card without first being verified.

Can I change my picture later?

Yes. However, a re-carding fee will be charged.

I am a faculty, staff, administrator, or visiting scholar, can I just pay for my ID card myself?

No. For security reasons, as of September 1, 2015, Student Business Services will no longer be accepting individual employee payments for their ID cards. Employees, guests and visiting scholars' departments will be responsible for payment.
